An Interview with Michelle Mason

My guest for this episode is Michelle Mason, debut author of Your Life Has Been Delayed. We talked about the 90s, technology, and adapting your work to a changing world. In between questions, we played The Book Stops Here and Never Have I Ever Spoiled My Own Book.

Analysis of Five Midnights by Ann Davila Cardinal

Five friends cursed. Five deadly fates. Five nights of retribución.

If Lupe Dávila and Javier Utierre can survive each other’s company, together they can solve a series of grisly murders sweeping though Puerto Rico. But the clues lead them out of the real world and into the realm of myths and legends. And if they want to catch the killer, they’ll have to step into the shadows to see what’s lurking there–murderer, or monster?

Sky Beyond The Storm

I own three different copies of every book in this series. I have a physical copy for my bookshelves, I have an e-copy for reading, and an audiobook for listening. It has been a long time since I have loved a series from page one to the end and I still can’t believe the wild ride this one has been.

Selected

After a polarized nation was broken by the threat of civil war, States have now become countries. And in New Maine, things have gotten worse.

Giving my family a better life is everything. And my selection to attend an elite prep school suddenly offers my family a dramatically different life—food on the table, a roof over their heads, and a fighting chance at a future.

Everything is going great until some of my friends begin ghosting me, and then disappear. Soon it becomes clear this “chance of a lifetime” isn’t the Holy Grail I was promised. And the attention from one of Easton’s elite has me questioning why a boy with a golden future wants to risk it by being seen with me.

But when I find out why I’m really at this school, I may have to trust him if I want to live.

Let’s Discuss Yvonthia Leland

We interrupt your regularly scheduled holiday book recs to bring you YA twitter drama.
We might take a vacation from the blog in December but we certainly don’t miss out on all the YA lit drama. And this winter, the big event was from an author bashing reviewers. Who could forget the horror story that was Kathleen Hale hunting down an anonymous reviewer for giving her one star on GoodReads which sparked outrage about author/reviewer etiquette? The answer is Yvonthia Leland.

Very Merry Christmas… Tentacles?

Jess and Dan were left without supervision for this quintessential holiday episode to talk about why you don’t give book nerds books for Christmas… and also the oddity of Sick Kid Romance and its likeness to Tentacle Porn… In any case, like, share, and rate your favorite episodes. It’s the best gift you can give this holiday season (cause it costs you literally nothing).

Too Many Tuesdays

If you’re an avid bookworm with a calendar full of highly anticipated release dates or a book blogger with deadlines (i.e. Our Audience) then you know that literally every book is published on a Tuesday.

As an adult with a day job, I have to wonder: whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
